q media sat down with CCI: Canadian Crossroads
International last fall to help plan an ambitious look at the
organization to coincide with their 50th anniversary. The
plan – to
send six CCI volunteers, known as Crossroaders with video cameras
to six countries in Africa and South America to document CCI
sponsored initiatives around the issues of HIV/AIDS, Poverty
and Women’s Rights. A logistical nightmare? Absolutely. But
producer and editor Thomas Paloheimo somehow managed to pull
it all together to produce a compelling look at a fascinating
organization.
The video offers a compelling look into the
lives of often forgotten people who, with CCI’s support are
learning to take control of their own lives and their communities
social and economic future through initiatives like community banks
and micro financing initiatives.
