This fresh news release announces Barrick’s major strategic technology partnership with Cisco.
And they wanted it fast, in less than two weeks in both English and Spanish.
The real challenge centred around illustrating how the digital technology partnership would transform mining. What would it look like? How would it change the way they do business in the future? Create an infographic describing process reengineering? Yawn. The choices seemed uninspiring. Our client wanted something evocative, inspiring.
Beauty in the data.
Writers/Producers Dorothy Engelman and Richard Quinlan, Creative Director Graeme Mathieson and design guru Josh Kaplan started with a late evening brainstorm. The solution came from data itself, or more specifically data points. Since Cisco’s solution involved connecting data from the rock face to the desktop, we decided to create graphics that evoke data connections visually.
Over 120K views within 48 hours of launch.
And a happy client and a happy Josh who stretched his wings in new data directions.
Great work definitely begins with a strong working relationship.
