The video needed to convey three important elements: reinforcing their brand in a progressively competitive athletic wear marketplace, the launch of their new campaign: “Sports apparel is increasingly allowing fashion to overtake function, but not SKINS” and social media push under #ThisIsOur.
the Q-lution.
Creating a 40sec spot that included 36 shots, 8 locations, 10 different sports and training regiments (and 3 so-called “sports” – you’ll see) and muscles galore.
We also had the opportunity to film Canada’s current 400m champion, Carline Muir. She’s so fast and strong that she mentioned that she was only giving us 5-10% of her normal speed, so our camera operator could actually keep up with her! It was also our first time using the new Sony FS7 – a beautiful camera with amazing picture quality and capabilities, including 4K and slow-motion at 180 frames per second, all functions fully maximized in this spot.
What resulted was a truly collaborative process with the agency and the client, a video not only the team here are Q are super happy with, but also something that exceeded all expectations with SKINS and BBD Perfect Storm.
