We scripted a series that took audiences right into the rolling hills and stunning vistas of the Rioja region in Northern Spain. Each episode focused on a new skill our host Bob Blumer (from Food Network greats like “Glutton for Punishment” and “World’s Weirdest Restaurants”) wanted to learn. From carving an $800 leg of jamon iberico with a master to blending the perfect rioja wine in Campo’s lab, Bob takes viewers on a journey through the cobbled streets, friendly personalities and majestic vineyards of the region. And with Creative Director Graeme behind the camera, the series feels just as energetic as Bob himself.
the secret sauce.
Plan, plan and then plan some more.
Shooting in Spain was Q Producer Caitie’s dream, but there was some serious pre-production work to be done before she packed her bags. From organizing an on-camera surrealist feast for 12, to tracking down local crew (in a town with a pop of 150,000), this project had lots of moving parts. Luckily the local crew was terrific and the whole team had a truly fantastic trip.
